A Snare For Souls

A Dream…

I was a young girl, a strong committed believer in Jesus Christ, and I was walking into a large college building, an institution.

I was starting college, and was quite excited about it. I was eager to learn all about the business, so I could then go out and make a living and support my family with the job I could get from having such a degree.

As me and my fellow students were waiting for the teacher, we chatted and talked, and started to get to know each other. Just then, one of my fellow students spoke up, and called everyone to silence. “Ssh…do you hear that?”

Everyone was quiet for a moment, and heard nothing.

“Just wait…,” she said again.

Then from the silence, came the sound of scales rubbing up against something hard.
It caused the building to give a slight shudder. There was a moment of silence, then the sound came again. We were all shocked at the sound.

The one who noticed it spoke up again. “It sounds like…”

But I finished her sentence for her. “…a huge snake!”

Everyone agreed, as they continued to listen to the pattern of sound. One said “It’s like its moving on top of us!” Another said, “no, it’s from across the hall, there!” And yet another declared that the sound was coming from beneath the room. No one could really tell from where the sound was coming from; it was all around us. But we were able to tell after listening to it for a while, that it became louder when one went towards the windows. One of us looked outside, thinking it could be seen there. But it was not there.

I knew then, along with the girl who had first discovered the sound,
That whatever it was, it was very evil, and was hunting our souls.

Many in the room panicked, having lost their composure from listening to the constant sound, and they turned and raced towards the door, to get out.

I raced with them. Some ran beyond me, out of the entrance, while others were still behind me.

I ran forward under some tables in the hall, hoping to avoid the huge snake that might be there, and then ran out the front doors of the institution. As I ran out, a group of new recruits were going in. I could tell that they were new to the whole experience, for their clothing was lighter and brighter than ours. I could see their excited faces, as they filed in along side me. I tried to reach out to them to warn them, but they would not listen at all to me, and kept going in. So I left them, and ran outside.

As soon as I cleared the door, I came face to face with satan himself. I knew it was satan, for the Holy Spirit inside me told me this. He had sandy blonde hair and a pleasant face, and was dressed in a nice suit, and looked just like what a school administrator would look like.

“Hello Christian,” he sneered, his voice low and rumbling out from him just like a demons voice would.

The panic that hit me then almost overwhelmed me, but at the last moment, just as the administrator came forward to grab me, I remembered to call out the name “Jesus!”, which caused him to back away from me.

Evil came off of him in waves, but I soon learned to brace myself against it. He moved away from me, but I kept him in my line of vision, and I let him know that I knew what he really was, and that I was keeping my eye on him.

He simply shrugged as if he didn’t care at all about what I had said, and continued administrating to the college. “You’ll be back,” he said to me with scorn. “We’re the only ones who can teach you what you need to know.”

I then transferred to another college, in the hopes that it would be different. At this college, the sound of the snake wasn’t as bad, but the evil presence was still there. I seen the same satanic administrator there at the college shortly after joining. It was then that the Holy Spirit told me that all of the colleges were infected with the beast. I wondered at this, for there were a few teachers here and there that were not too bad, and one or two that were even good. (Good meaning they tolerated Christianity fairly well.) But the Holy Spirit told me that it was infected with the evil because of the way they were formed and structured. They were basically meant to be evil by design from the very beginning.

I then went up onto the roof top, and watched as a woman kept declaring how filthy these colleges were, and to prove her point, she took a shovel to the layers of dirt that had settled upon the roof of the institution, and lifted up all the dirt on the college, and began exposing it all to anyone who cared to look. All the history of layers upon layers of smelly yucky ‘dirt’ was excavated for all to see, showing its evil formation from its onset.

I then went back into the college, to see if there were other Christians within it. I found a group of believers that were chanting “C! H! U! R! C! H!” over and over again, like a cheer at a sports game. They were trying to support each other in their faith in Christ, by supporting the gathering of houses of worship on the weekends. This did help them to remember Christ during the week, but some had also given them heavy burdens to carry as a result of such fellowship. I looked over to my right, and seen a small nook, filled with religious leaders. I realized that these were the religious leaders of the college institutions that held their denominational name. All the colleges that had started out as being a learning institution for Christ, and had then later let it slip from their grasp, were there. I saw the pope first, with his crooked cross at the end of his staff, and his false god dagon fish hat sitting upon his head. He wore his usual glimmering satin vestments, all yellow gold and white, and he was sitting there talking to all the other head religious administrators. As I listened, I realized that all these leaders took their cue from the pope, and basically copied his foundations for their own religious institutions, and then made a few changes to make it their own.

I stood there, feeling the pressure to join one of their denominations, but pushed it off. I said out loud in a clear voice, (I know the pope heard me, for I was right next to him,) “I will never go back to those lies! They lied about women being worth less than a man! But God has always loved both woman and man equally! Simple believers are the saints and priests! And besides, there is only one mediator between God and man, and it is not them! They lied about other things through the centuries as well!” (I was thinking of the purchasing of indulgences and the Spanish inquisition when I said this, but I knew that the pope knew full well what I was referring to, so I didn’t need to specifically mention them.) “Those are all man’s beliefs to help him feel powerful, not Gods! Besides, I am free indeed! I no longer need to go to those churches to try and uphold my faith in Jesus! The Holy Spirit teaches me all I need to know, and He has promised to never leave me nor forsake me!”

Just then, the head administrator, satan, walked near me, and our eyes met for just a moment. Then his face was lost into the crowd again.

As I got nearer my graduation date, I found that just walking from class to class itself, was becoming harder and harder. It was as if a lead weight had been strapped onto my back, which was making it hard for me to physically move forward. Towards the end, I felt like getting on my hands and knees and just crawling to class. The Holy Spirit told me that the burden that weighed so heavily on top of me, was the pressure of the college’s secularization methods sitting upon my Christian soul.

Then finally I had earned my degree. But as I sat there contemplating my future with my friends, the satanic administrator came back and sat next to me, and tried to entice me back into his world. Again, the evil flowed from him in waves, and as I shored up my defenses against him, the thought to somehow steal souls back from him came into my mind. I found that the idea intrigued me and invigorated me. So to my friends astonishment, I listened to the administrators words, (this time flowing over me like honey, smooth and practiced,) and I acted like I was trying to follow along with his games. He did fancy ‘miracles’ with his deck of cards, shuffling them with a whir of wind, and then having them fly into his other outstretched hand. He played games of chance with me as well, predicting their outcome, and I remarked to my friends that I wondered how he could do such ‘miracles’. (They looked at me in astonishment, but I gave them a private smile that told them that I knew what I was doing, so they let me be.) Then satan reached out and tried to teach me how to do the same tricks, but I did not really try to do them, but fumbled the cards in my hands instead. He then promised me that if I went on and continued in my studies at the collage, I would learn how to do such things and much more. I smiled and said that I would sign up for more years, for I indeed wanted to learn more.

The devil smiled back at me, and left the booth, content to think that he had at last caught me in his snares.

Little did the foolish, self-absorbed administrator guess, that far from becoming ensnared with the thought of knowing the world’s possible pleasures and secrets, my heart was still set for Jesus and the Kingdom of God. I would work under cover, infiltrate the ranks of the professors, record their ways and methods, and then write a booklet on how to steer clear of all their secularization and assimilation techniques, to help keep one’s Christian soul pure for Christ.

I ended up doing just this, and helped preserve many souls for Christ.

By the time the evil administrator realized what was really happening, I had long gone from the collage.

I then woke up.

No One To Pray For Them

The other day, while making dinner, I was listening to a song by J. Moss called “The Prayers”. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0wUbK2EssfQ)

The song starts out saying “You know what? I’ve been looking for somebody. Not just anybody, but a special somebody.” Then it asked “Who can get a prayer through? Can anybody out there pray for me, without even knowing what I need? Can anybody pray unselfishly? Can anybody out there pray for me, without even knowing a whole lot about me?” Then it sang of the glory of ‘the prayers of the righteous.’

And I thought for a moment, of those believers out there, who might have no one to help pray with them. For example, I thought of an old woman who might be last of her line, or a young man being held in a prison cell, without any outside support. I knew that there were people out there in this world, who had no one to help them in their prayers to the Lord Jesus. This saddened me.

Then I decided right then and there, to pray for those people.

I didn’t quite know how to begin, (I even thought of speaking in tongues for them, ) but suddenly the words came to me.

‘Oh Jesus,” I began, “please grant the requests of those who are yours, but have no one else to pray for them. Your Word states ‘For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.’ (Matthew 18:20) It also states ‘That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.’ (Matthew 18:19) It doesn’t say in Your Word that we have to be right next to each other. Well Lord, You have also told me that You are not limited by distance, time, or space. (https://dreamsofdunamis.wordpress.com/2012/04/01/pray-for-carolina/) So Lord, I pray as one with them, that You would answer their prayers. Whatever it would be, I ask you along with them, to give it to them, according to Your Will.”

Suddenly, as I was finishing up the last few sentences of this prayer, a vision open up before me. Angels were coming right up to my mouth as I was speaking, and just as the humming bird darts up to a flower to sip its nectar, the angels were taking my words as soon as they came out from my lips, and were darting off elsewhere, to bring them to those who had need of them most.

I gasped when I seen them; they were so beautiful. They moved so fast, that it was hard to see each one clearly. I did see that they did not have wings like most people depict angels to have; I could see no feathers or wings at all on them. But what I did see, was that they moved so very fast, that the lighted air around them moved and swirled around their bodies, forming what some might see and think of as wings. Brightness was foremost, and was ever so slightly highlighted with the iridescent colors of blue, pink, purple, and green.

The moment I finished my prayer, the vision ended.

I marveled at the vision, and at the power that our words have.

I already knew how our words can become a curse against us (https://dreamsofdunamis.wordpress.com/2014/02/14/beware-of-the-jinx-demon/) and I knew that the Word of God was very powerful indeed. (“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” – Hebrews 4:12, and ” So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11) I even knew the power of a believer’s word in claiming blessings for oneself and family. (https://dreamsofdunamis.wordpress.com/2014/10/02/what-ebola-really-is/) But for some reason, it never occurred to me, that the words of praying for someone you don’t even know, could still be so powerful. I had thought that there had to be a personal connection of some kind, for them to have such incredible power.

It is nice to know that my prayers will be brought to those who have need of them most. I pray that I will remember to pray for others, even while doing something as mundane as making supper. I think it would be interesting, to get to heaven, and have the Lord show me just how each of these prayers I uttered ended up helping another. It is exciting to me, to realize that the Lord can still use our prayers for His glory and His kingdom, even while we go about doing our usual work in this world…

And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)

“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” (Romans 8:26)

Willing To Stand Up For Jesus

I went to a commencement ceremony last night.

Two of my kids were getting certificates
At a community college.

Two hundred and thirty four students were listed in the program. Perhaps ten,
twenty, maybe even thirty of them were not there for the actual ceremony.
But at least over two hundred of them were.

After the opening song,
(Which of course was “Pomp and Circumstance”,)
The president of the college spoke a moving speech,
On how the students were to now
Go forth into the world
And leave their mark in it.

Then each graduate’s name was called out,
as they stepped up to the platform
to receive their diploma or certificate.

After their name was called forth,
And their degree/certificate was noted,
Each student was able
In thirty words or less,
To say a personal word of thanks
To those who had helped them
Achieve their diplomas/certificates.

Most mentioned family and friends,
And of course their favorite teachers.

I sat in the audience
Waiting,
Counting,
Just how many of the students
Would remember to thank God.

Out of two hundred or more students,
ONLY FIVE
Came forth with ANYTHING resembling God.

One gave thanks to ‘her guardian angel’,
(though my husband believes the student
was actually referring to her grandfather,)
two mentioned the word ‘God’,
and JUST TWO
actually gave thanks to JESUS.

My heart just ACHED
To find there was only five
Amongst two hundred!

I KNOW my God!
I KNOW that He had to have helped other students
in this graduating group, at some time or another.

But when the time came to give thanks,
JESUS had been forgotten.

And yes, in case you were wondering,
It was my own two kids
Who went forth and stated that they
Wanted to give thanks to Jesus.

I was surprised and very thankful,
That they both wanted to state this
Before the whole assembly,
And to even state their thanks to Him FIRST,
before mentioning anyone else.

They told me,
How Jesus helped them to remember
The answers during their exams,
(they would get nervous,
And get hit with forgetfulness,)
Or how He had helped them to remember
To send in forgotten homework at the last minute,
Or to stay alert in class when sick,
And even how He kept them safe,
During dangerous driving conditions,
As they drove to and from the college.
(One of my kids even totaled the car one slick rainy night,
But walked away unscathed,
Because his guardian angel
Was in the car right next to him through the whole thing,
Instructing him what to do to stay safe,
as the car kept rolling in the air.
He landed upside down,
Just inches away from a big fat tree.)
Jesus had indeed, helped them earn their certificates.
He had not only kept them alive,
But He had prospered them.

I was also pleasantly surprised,
To find that the college speaker
Left the name of Jesus alone,
As they had to read through every single message,
And pre-approve each one of them.

I half expected them to delete it,
or to change it to the more generic ‘God’,
But they did not.
(Thank you Jesus Christ of Nazareth!)

When one of my kids names was called out,
The speaker said “I would like to thank Jesus-
And then he gave a slight PAUSE,
Before continuing.

I was not able to see this speakers face from where I was sitting,
so I do not k now if the speakers expression was mocking, serious,
surprised, or glad. But he gave pause after announcing this,
as if to give space to some kind of emotion.
(The speaker had not done this with any of the other students.)
A small collective gasp came forth from the surrounding crowd,
along with a few “ah, finally!” shouts,
(almost as if someone had been waiting to hear Jesus’ name,)
and then clapping broke out from the audience,
In support of thanking Jesus.

When all the students had been given their diplomas and certificates,
and the closing speaker had finished,
The band played a lively tune,
As the graduates walked back out of the arena.

Care to make a guess as to what song they chose to play?

WHEN THE SAINTS GO MARCHING IN!

(Anyone else see the irony in this?!)

As the students left,
They danced to the song with excitement.

But my heart just ACHED!

I looked at all those students,
And wondered if the students ever gave any thought
Into what they were marching in TO!
Because if their thank you’s were any indication at all
Of where their soul would one day go,
ONLY FIVE WOULD ACTUALLY GO MARCHING IN!
(I pray that they would each come to love Jesus deeply, ‘
before their ‘number’ gets called!)

Afterwards, at the reception,
An older couple came up to one of my kids,
And said that they wanted to personally thank him
For mentioning Jesus name
In front of the whole assembly.

My son smiled at them,
And said “So you are believers too! Cool…”
They said a quick prayer with him,
Before waving goodbye.

All these students,
All two hundred and thirty four of them,
Are going forth now to leave their mark upon the world.

What do you think that mark will be?

(I can’t help but hope and pray,
That the Christian colleges
Are having better results,
In getting their students,
Willing to stand up for Jesus
And give Him thanks
In the public arena…!)

Luke 17:11-17, 1599 Geneva Bible (GNV)

“And so it was when he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria, and Galilee. And as he entered into a certain town, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off. And they lifted up their voices and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go, show yourselves unto the Priests. And it came to pass, that as they went, they were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice praised God, and fell down on his face at his feet, and gave him thanks: and he was a Samaritan. And Jesus answered, and said, Are there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?”

(GNV) Footnotes:
Luke 17:11 Christ doeth well even unto such, as will be unthankful, but the benefits of God profit them only to salvation, which are thankful.

“…We ought to obey God rather than men.”– Acts 5:29
