Escaping The Forest Fire

THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO THOSE WHO PRAYED FOR US!!! I could feel those prayers comforting me, as we waited for news concerning our home. And yes, the waiting really is the hardest part. Even those we have spoken to, who have lost everything, say that not knowing if they had a home to return to or not, was the most difficult thing they ever had to go through. Once they knew, they could begin making plans. But until then, they felt stuck.

First off, some of my kids and I, had been getting odd dizzy spells every now and then, several weeks before the fire. They felt very similar to what we had experienced leading up to 9-11. We knew then that there was something building, something happening that was not good. But we had no idea what it would be, or where it would hit.

Four weeks ago, one of my kids, (the one who can see so easily into the unseen world,) had several days of bad dreams. Every night he would dream of a great fire that overtook the land. These dreams so upset him, that he refused to share them with anyone. He just kept hoping that nothing would ever come of them. I have had to deal with resentment and disappointment (yes, both are demons,) towards this boy of mine, because he had withheld these dreams from us. Had I known before hand of his dreams, I would have responded much differently to the call of alarm.

On that fateful day, I was out taking care of some business, when one of my boys called me. “Mom,” he said, “there’s a fire near by; please come home!”

The clerk at the store where I had just arrived, overheard my son’s impassioned plea. “Oh, you don’t have to worry about that!” she exclaimed. “That’s way too far away from you guys to affect you!”

But I told my son right in front of her so she could hear, “start saying psalm 91 out loud. Claim that the wind would change direction and that it would pull the fire away from us. I’m on my way.”

I didn’t think at the time, that the fire was a big deal; many times before the firemen would go and put out the fire and nothing would ever really come of it. But just in case, I had him start claiming. I also sensed that it was good for me to be home, even if it was just to give emotional support to my boys.

So despite the scoffing of the clerk, (who thought I was totally over-reacting,) I left the place without concluding my business, and drove back home.

When I got there, my kids pulled me out onto the deck to see the fire. It was over a hundred degrees outside, and I was still hot from my travel. I looked at the fire, and was unimpressed. It looked quite small from where I was standing. It reminded me of someone’s campfire that had just gotten a bit out of control. I figured the firemen would put it out soon. Little did I know, that our view was blocked by many trees and buildings. It was way bigger than what I had thought, and it was coming straight at us.

Another one of my boys seemed to grasp the severity of the situation. He stood out there in that sweltering heat, praying and rebuking the fire. The wind was blowing in his face from the direction that it usually does this time of year. It was the same direction that the fire was going. He held out his hand like a stop signal, and began to claim in the name of Jesus (using John 15:7-8, and John 16:23-24,) that the wind would shift and move the fire away from our home.

Suddenly the ground shook as from a mighty explosion, (I think the fire had hit a bunch of propane tanks not too far from us,) one of my kids yelled out from the shock of it, and then the fire roared to life, and raced upwards and forward towards us.

Then the electricity line went and we lost power.

Now we could see more of the fire, and we could feel the intense heat radiating from it. The sound of the fire roaring is one I will not soon forget. It rose like a fiend, all orange flames licking upwards, several stories high, curling and disappearing into high black waves of smoke.

One of my older boys took off in one of the cars, to see if the firemen needed any help in fighting the fire.

I went and got changed into something cooler, for I knew it would be a while before the power came back on.

My kids said they could hear voices up the road. One of my kids felt from the Lord Jesus to go investigate. He found a group of people up at the far corner of our property, discussing the fire. A fireman ran up to the group just then, and told them that it was time for everyone to evacuate.

My son ran back home and came and told me. I ran downstairs where my husband was having his on-line meeting, and tried to get his attention. I could tell he was really mad at me for interrupting him, (I do not know why; none of us had ever interrupted him before. Hind sight tells me it must have been a demonic attack,) but I waited (wasting precious moments,) till he turned to me. I said with one breath “THE FIRE HAS INCREASED WERE EVACUATING.”

I didn’t wait for his response, but turned to run back upstairs. The boy who had given me the warning, yelled at me as I was running. “What do we do?” he wailed. His voice was filled with panic.

My heart gave a big hard thump in its chest. “Pack!”

“Noooo!” he cried, and began to hit panic big time. He could not think; all he did was stand there and scream.

I thought it was odd that this child should react in such a way, and it was making any form of thinking for me impossible. As a mamma, you simply can’t think clearly with your child screaming as if a body part was being torn off of them. Little did I know at the time, that this was the child who had all the nightmares of the fire just weeks before, so for him, he was watching his nightmares come true.

I stopped my packing, got the blessing oil, blessed him and cast the demon of panic out. He then stopped yelling and was able to go pack.

I grabbed my overnight bag, (the luggage was up in the attic,) and grabbed a fist full of underwear, some tops and some bottoms, shoved them into the bag, and then paused.

I looked around the room in bewilderment, my feet glued to the floor. What do you take, when given only a few moments to pack? Your mind simply blanks. I stood there, frozen. There was so much stuff that I was looking at, that I suddenly realized simply did not matter. How was I supposed to sort through all the things to find the stuff that did?

Into this confusion came the Lord’s voice. “Camping,” He said.

So just as if I was getting ready to go camping, I started gathering up more stuff. I ran into the bathroom to gather up some vitamins, and I felt the Lord ask me, “Do you really believe in Me, that I will save your house?”

I knew what He was asking. He wanted to know if I really believed that He would grant me my request that I had claimed, according to the scriptures, or if I was just mouthing the words. I thought about it for a moment, and realized that I did believe. “Yes,” I replied firmly. “I do.”

“Thus others homes are saved also.”

I didn’t give what He said just then much thought, I was trying to gather as much stuff into the little overnight bag that I could. The computer and its power cord, crackers to eat, a bible, shoes, my children’s text books-

And then came the cry from my husband. “Come on! Stop packing; we have to go now!” He loaded up my stuff into the car along with his, and some bags from the kids, and then told me to take the car and leave, and meet him at a parking lot a good distance away.

On my way out, I unlocked the chicken coops, figuring this way they had more of a chance to  escape the fire if need be, and then ran to the car. I started to drive off, and found that my oldest (the one who had gone to see if the firemen needed his help but was told no,) was already in the car in front of me. But we were stopped at the edge of our drive way. Cars weren’t moving. Those in the cars ahead of us, had stopped to talk to someone else, causing everyone else to get backed up. We sat there, with the fire raging up behind us, and satan tried to get me to panic, but I shook it away. “The Lord is with us,” I said out loud to him with scorn, “we will not be touched!”

Finally, after what felt like forever, the cars began to move. We finally met up with everyone else. I knew I had the most important things now with me; all of my family had escaped. We had all the animals except the chickens. (I have way too many chickens to just quickly load up in a car.)

Others from our subdivision were also there. There were firefighters that went from person to person, asking them where their house was, and then declaring whether or not their house was standing. One of them seen us, and said “Oh! You live on THAT street! Your house is toast, man.”

My kids walked away from them, and claimed under their breath, that our house WILL be saved, for we were claiming it in the name of Jesus. One of my boys came and told me, that he had just heard from Jesus, and Jesus had told him that our house will be safe. This son told me, that no matter what, WE MUST NOT DOUBT.

Everyone watched as the fire grew larger and closer. At this point, it was incredibly huge, enveloping many, many blocks, and the sky was just glowing and pulsating with orange and black heat. One of my boys couldn’t take it any more, and asked to go to his friend’s house. They were offering shelter for us there. My husband told me to go with them. I told him no, and that I would not leave him. (The last thing I wanted to happen in this mess, is to get separated from him!) But he told me he wanted to stay to see what was happening, and that he would follow me later, so I went.

As I followed my son and his friend in my car, I found that my legs and arms began to shake, and my stomach felt like it was about to toss all its cookies out the window. So I started claiming in the name of Jesus that I could still drive and that I would not throw up.

I then wondered if we should try to find a hotel to stay in, instead of staying at my son’s friend’s house, but I sensed it was too late, for we were already on our way.

The shock of it all was still hitting me, so I started claiming again, and quoting the scriptures that say:

If you live in Me

And My Words live in you,

You may ask Me for anything in My name,

AND YOU WILL RECEIVE IT

In order to give glory to the Father,

And in order that your joy would be full!

(John 15:7-8 and John 16:23-24)

I then praised the Lord, and told him how great He is; that nothing can compare to His glory. I thanked Him for saving us.

Then I spoke in tongues, not knowing what else to say, and wishing that there was some way that I could praise him better. (Remembering scripture at this point, was difficult.)

It was then that the Lord told me to put the radio on.

I thought this odd, for I wasn’t in the mood to sort through or listen to any music. But I obeyed, and found that somehow, the radio was tuned into some kind of bible hour program that I had never heard of before. (For that matter, I had never heard of the station before either.) They were working through the psalms. The voice read the Word of God over the radio, and then I repeated it out loud.

Some of them I shouted out loud, and raised my hand in claiming, others I simply said “Amen!”. For it was coming so fast at me, that I could not repeat it quickly enough, before they would speak the next one. I cried with joy, at the precious Words that I was fed.

When the bible hour was over, I turned off the radio, and began to speak in tongues. I simply didn’t know what to pray for; I was still in shock.

When we finally got there, I had to be helped in; my legs were threatening to give out beneath me. I thanked those we were staying with, for their generosity in letting us stay. My son’s friend said that he had some other friends that also wanted to help us out, and that the rest of us could be divvied up between them. (Our family is too big to simply stay at one place.) So our family separated up, and went to go stay with the others.

When my husband returned, he was not able to give us any news; the firemen were still there fighting the fire, and the road was now blocked off, so he was unable to get back home to see if our house still stood.

He got a call from one of his friends, offering to put us up for the duration of our need. We talked about it, but I heard the Lord Jesus quite clearly say to me, “Do not go from house to house!”, so we stayed where we were.

She Called Upon Her God And He Saved Me!

A dream…

I was a young woman,
waiting back stage
Among many others,
In the hope that I would be next
To go out on stage.

I knew deep down inside me,
That my turn would come today.

The stage production
Were for the United Nations delegates.
Some of those out on stage,
were the delegates themselves.
This was a way for them to relax and have fun,
After going through their more serious talks of the day.

I was not a U.N. delegate.
I had been chosen to be back stage
Because they were told that I had a good voice,
And could mimic some of the singers
And their popular songs of the past 20 years or so.

The singers were going out on stage,
and forming a dancing line,
with singers and delegates interwoven among each other.

The second line that went out
Had a problem with the lead singer’s microphone,
So they suddenly grabbed me from behind,
Stuck the microphone on me,
And told me to go out and sing the lyrics to the next song.

The song was “You’re the one that I want”, from the movie ‘Grease’.
This was easy for me to do,for my voice was like hers,
And I remembered the lyrics well.

On one side of me, was a woman
She reminded me of a Hillary Clinton type,
And on the other side of me,
Was a tall man who reminded me of Will Ferrell in the movie ‘Elf’,
though his personality was much more reserved.
They were both delegates of some kind from the United Nations.

We danced and walked towards one end of the stage,
and then back to the other end of the stage,
all while linking arms with each other.
(Think of a chorus line of girls, but without the high kicks.)
The steps were very easy, so the delegates could play along without too much trouble.

When I was almost finished singing the song,
I smiled at the guy to the left of me,
And sang a part of it to him.

He stared at me,
And then the singing part of the song was done.
They quickly turned off my microphone,
And we then continued on the line dance,
Till the end of the song.

Other dancers and performers were already entering onto the stage behind us,
But as we went all the way over to the end of the stage,
And before we could go back to the center of the stage and then exit through the back curtain,
(and right at the last few bars of the song,)
The man next to me gasped and clutched his chest,
and then collapsed onto the floor.

I let go of the woman and reached out with my other hand,
And caught him the best that I could,
Though his weight pressed me down to the ground as well.
(I was quite tiny, and he was very tall.)

I held his head in my lap,
And the other dancers were then starting up their song,
So no one really noticed us laying there.
(The spot lights followed the current lead singer and the dancers,
and did not highlight the whole stage at one time.)

He lay there in my arms,
Seemingly unconscious.
I knew that he was having a heart attack,
So I quietly but quickly,
Spoke under my breath,
And began casting out any demons trying to do this to him
In the name of Jesus.

I then called my God’s blessing to come down upon him,
and to heal this man for my sake,
as a favor to one of His beloved children.

I placed my one free hand upon his chest as I said this,
And waited for something to happen.
But nothing did.
I then felt the Holy Spirit tell me within my mind,
To sing in tongues to Him.

So I did.

The singing seemed to relax the muscles of the man a little bit more,
but there was still no obvious discernible movement from his body.

Others had begun to notice us there out on the stage,
And soon the paramedics rushed onto the stage
To come help him.

They rushed forward to begin assessing the man,
And motioned for me to get out of the way.

As I gently let go of his head and stepped back,
There was a short pause as they began taking his readings,
And then suddenly the man gave a loud gasp,
Pulling air into his lungs, as he tried to get back up.

The paramedics backed off,
Clearly startled at the man’s quick recovery,
And watched him as he motioned to the area behind them.

The man yelled out “Wait! Where is she? That woman!
The one dancing with me! She called upon her God and He saved me!”

At that, the small crowd parted, so the man could once again see me,
now standing there a short ways off in the corner.

“That’s the girl! There! In the Corner!”

Others pointed to me, and the man gave a nod in agreement.
“Yes! That’s her! She cried out to her God Jesus,
and asked Him to please save me for her sake, as a favor to her!
She sang and spoke in a odd language,
and then her God Jesus Christ came and saved me!”

Well, at that, the people in charge quickly got all of us off that stage,
(as a matter of damage control,)

And while man went to the local hospital to be checked up,
the authorities arrested me for being a Christian.

The doctors who examined the man,
found that he had indeed suffered from a heart attack,
but was now (somehow,) healed.
Other delegates from his country surrounded him,
And listened to his testimony.
His fellow countrymen believed him,
And wanted to hear more about this girl who had cared enough to try and save their beloved delegate.

But they were told they were not allowed to contact me,
Because I was in prison.

When they found out I was basically being imprisoned
For demonstrating my faith in my God by saving their delegate’s life,
a great uproar among their people came forth,
demanding that I not be punished for this ‘crime’.
They kept up their demands, and became even more vocal,
Until the police were told to set me free.

But the authorities kept a close eye on me,
In case I suddenly became outspoken,
And tried to go out and preach to everyone in the streets.
(I was told that I would end up back in prison if I did this.)

I went straight home,
For I had become sick with a cold while in prison,
And so for the next six weeks or so,
I recuperated in bed,
Thereby remaining silent by default.

The man and his close friends came to try and thank me,
But the authorities were there the whole time,
Making sure no other information about Jesus could be shared.
This did not matter however,
for I knew that the Holy Spirit would find a way to lead the man to Jesus.
I knew that one day soon, his questions would be answered.

The police soon decided that I must have ‘learned my lesson’,
and stopped watching me so intently.
(Little did they know, the Holy Spirit was simply not telling me to go out
and spread the gospel in that manner at this time,
and that was why I remained off the streets.)

The man who had the heart attack,
tried valiantly to spread the word of what had happened to him.
He and his people began to look into this God called Jesus.
They could not understand why our country would forbid it,
if it could do such good things like cure the sick.

The news stations were told not to give it any attention,
and that the hoopla would then soon die down without media attention.

But it didn’t.

The country where this delegate came from,
had a shake down of sorts in their ranks of delegates.
The upper level ones in authority,
did not want this to be ‘blown all out of proportion’,
thereby ruining their chance to keep their ‘good standing’ membership in the U.N.
But the common people, and the delegates closer to the man,
did not care about such things. They wanted to know more about this Jesus,
and they worked to find out more information about Him.
The incident ended up creating a whole other group of believers in Jesus Christ,
within their tiny country.

I then woke up.

A Deal With The Devil

In the beginning of 1992, I called out for the devil, and he came to me.

We (our family) were driving, and I told my husband that I’d be willing to make a deal with the devil to be a teacher again of cosmetology.

My husband just looked at me in shock. “Woman,” he said, “do you know what you have just said?!”

I thought his comment was a bit off; my husband had never referred to me simply as ‘woman’, especially when we were together in the same place.

But that odd warning did nothing to stop me. “Well I would!” I replied to his glare. The silence in the car was deafening, and we both felt a little uncomfortable, but I soon forgot all about it.

Until that night.

I was almost asleep, (or was I already asleep?) when he came. He called me, and I asked the voice who he was.

He said “you know who I am; you called for me.”

I sat up in bed and looked over to the left where I had heard the voice come from. It was hard to see much of anything, for the room was filled with clouds and smoke. But then there were two spots of pure bright white light that shone out from the corner of the room. These lights were perfectly circular, and sat next to each other horizontally like snake eyes. Looking into his eyes was like looking into a slice of leftover heaven, bright, peaceful, pure, and white.

But that was the only part of him that reminded me of heaven.

As I stared at the two white lights, a grayish-white smoke swirled all around them, and then began to swirl even further into the room.
This gray-white smoke then parted for just a moment, and I caught a glimpse of what looked like the middle part of a long tail, covered with shiny reflective scales. The very top of the snake body was dark green in color, the sides were a lighter green, and the belly had a yellow-green mixture of scales that slowly turned into a stripe of pale beige in the center. It moved like a snake, pushing its belly forward, so it could rest its neck and eyes above it. When the smoke swirled to cover him there, another area opened up to my view. This area was closer to its eyes, and I could see a pair of very small thin arms with hands on the end of them, similar to the ones found on the T-rex dinosaur, protruding from the underside and side of its form. As the smoke swirled about him, I could see that the body was long, and went on beyond my sight. But it never revealed its face to me. Just those startling and hauntingly beautiful eyes.

He spoke to me then, and asked me for the soul of my youngest boy, telling me that in exchange, he would let me teach again, and even be a director of the nearby school. He somehow had transported us into my youngest son’s bedroom; I could see him below me sleeping peacefully, but I could not touch him or protect him from this devil.

But with this one, my answer was easy.

“No!”

But then, knowingly, the devil pulled me into my older son’s bedroom. I seen my eldest son lying on his mattress, fast asleep. I dreaded the next question from satan, as I already knew what his question would be. How did he know my weakness so well? It was as if he had calculatingly discerned, to ask me for my youngest son first, KNOWING I would say no, and then turning to my oldest son, in the hopes that I would capitulate on him and then seal the deal.

My first born son had been born with disabilities, ones that made it harder to love him. He disobeyed more often than not, and was prone to violent temper tantrums, often striking out and injuring those closest to him. He disliked being held or touched, and often seemed to live in a world of his own. I had spent many hours in tears over him, figuring that he would probably one day end up in prison.

THIS was the child satan had wanted in exchange from the first!

And so satan turned to me, and asked me for his soul, in exchange for my teaching position.

I floated over his toddler bed, watching him pull in his breath, and letting it out, for several moments. Oh how peaceful he now looked!

Satan sensed my weakness at such a long pause, and came towards me, pushing me harder to give him the answer he desired.

But there was one thought that entered my head at that moment, one that made me really doubt all my previous assumptions about my oldest child.

Satan was ASKING me for his soul. That meant it was not yet his! (Yes, there were many times I had wondered if he was already of satan; his behavior was that bad!) But if satan had to come to me to ask me for my son’s soul, that meant that there was REAL HOPE for him in the future! For why would satan try to bargain for a soul that he knew would soon be his anyways? He wouldn’t waste his time on it. I KNEW this, as sure as I was still breathing.

Then I knew that if there was the slightest chance of my eldest son ever coming to Christ, then I could not sell his soul to satan for anything. No matter what his behavior was, he was still precious, and he was still the child that I had so longed for, for so many years. This was the one that I had promised God, that I would love as my own, no matter what.

So as satan pressed in again for my answer, I told him “No!”

I thought that this would be the end of it, but satan kept on, nagging me, over and over and over again, trying to convince me to hand over his soul as payment for the desired favor. I told satan to leave, but he refused.

After several hours of this, I lost my temper, and yelled at him, that I would NEVER sell my children’s soul to him for ANYTHING!
At that, the devil paused.

And I thought, ‘at last! He will leave me now!’, but he did not.

Instead, he changed his offer.

Suddenly, we were back in my bedroom, with satan still floating above me. I was no longer in my bed, but found that I had gotten down on my knees on the floor by my bedside.

He then whispered to me, in that sly, knowing voice of his, -it sounded like a hiss that formed into words, never shouting or loosing patience,- that he would get rid of my migraines, if I only promised him my soul when I died.

My first response, was “No.”

But then he pressed upon my head, and forcibly reminded me of the pain of those horrible migraines. I would get them so bad that I would want to kill myself, but as soon as I would reach that point, the pain would be so severe, that I had no strength left within me to take my own life. Day after day, year after year, I lived in a cycle of never-ending migraine pain.

Again I told him, “no!,” but it was a weaker no, and he sensed this right away.

So he pressed in again and again, hoping I would change my answer and agree to his bargain.

I sat there, at the side of my bed, struggling just to hold my head up in its pain.

And then from seemingly afar off, I began to hear voices. I looked down onto the ground, from where they seemed to originate from, and found that the floor where I sat was no longer a solid unbroken foundation, but a crack had opened up beside me, that allowed me a glimpse into hell.

The voices were all crying out at the same time, howling in their pain and anguish. But this is not what struck me the hardest.

What hit me the hardest was the incredible, overpowering, hollow insatiable HUNGER. It was a living, moving entity, there in the pit before me. It consumed all souls in its grip and would never let go. It was HOLLOW and INSATIABLE.

Hunger for water, hunger for food, hunger for sleep, hunger for healing, hunger for companionship, hunger for ANYTHING and everything, that a human being would ever desire. But the fulfillment for it was not there. Only the HUNGER for it was there. And it NEVER ENDED. I knew it never would.

I could feel the heat from below rising up to my face. I could feel and smell the thick pungent smoke as it followed the searing heat upwards. And above all, was that insatiable, never satisfied spirit of HUNGER.

I backed away from the edge of the abyss, and shouted to the devil my answer.

“No! Now go away!”

But he remained.

The crack leading below closed up, and my floor looked as it did before.

But still satan would not leave me.

I could tell that many hours had passed, since satan had come to speak to me. (The clock on my nightstand told me this,) but still he would not leave me alone.

He nagged, over and over and over and over and over again, for me to change my answer.

But my answer remained the same.

“No! Never! Now get out of here! Leave me alone!”

But he remained.

I told him then, that he should never have appeared to me, for now I KNEW, without a shadow of doubt that God DOES exist! (For how could this earth survive something so evil as this worm without Him?!)

But he simply shrugged this off in total apathy, and continued to tempt me.

Then I suddenly remembered someone telling me, that all evil spirits run from Jesus name, so I yelled out “JESUS! JESUS HELP ME! JESUS!”

And then the devil and all his smoke disappeared from my bedroom in the blink of an eye.

I found that my husband had awoken with my screaming, and was reaching out to comfort me from across the bed, to where I was still crouched on the floor. He wanted to know why I had called out for the Lord.

So I told him.
*
I share my testimony with you today, because I sense that there will be those out there in the future, who may think about making their own deal with the devil. They may wish to make such a bargain, for something as basic as even having some food to eat. BUT KNOW THIS: THERE WILL NEVER BE ANYTHING WE WILL ENDURE ON THIS EARTH THAT WILL EVEN COME CLOSE TO BEING WORTH AN ETERNITY IN HELL!

Matthew 13:42 “And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”
Ps 86:13 For great is thy mercy toward me: and thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell.
Pr 15:24 The way of life is above to the wise, that he may depart from hell beneath.
Revelation 14:11 “And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; and they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.”
Matthew 10:28 “And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Mark 8:36, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
